St Wilfrid’s Church of England Academy is a large, high attaining, co-educational day school and sixth form providing a faith-led education for 11 to 18 year olds living in the Diocese of Blackburn. Xpressive Interiors were commissioned to undertake a design study to see if an IMAC, common room & immersive learning space could be fitted into a poorly utilised area.
Following a site survey and production of detailed existing drawings, a full brief was taken from the client including visits to other immersive learning spaces in the area.
Presentation drawings and elevations were produced together with mood boards and samples to obtain customer sign-off. This was followed by full working drawings for all of the bespoke furniture items.
Detailed drawings were then produced for the partitions, ceilings, lighting, power/date and flooring.
The school now have an amazing facility that is the envy of other schools in the region.
"The space at the centre of the Academy is fresh, vibrant, enthusiastically used by all and has already influenced dramatic changes in learning and teaching. We have been able to welcome year 6s over the past few days who are excited about what learning can be like & eager to make full use of the space when they join us later in the year."
